How to Be a Better Photographer
I always think about Conrad Hall because I remember seeing Fat City in Turkey when I was a teenager. And then I also remember researching how he'd worked on that film and things that he said about shooting the film. He put lights up outside of the window of Stacey Keachie's bedroom, that little place it starts in,. Just before he shot it turned all the bulbs but one off, it was like a maxi-brute. If something looks right to start with, don't mess with it. It's not self sometimes because you know, it's like we fight for time more than anything on a movie set.
