Carl Mengele's Political Aspirations

Mengele's father was a member of the German National People's Party. Mengele joined the Nazi Party in May 1933, only after it gained power and connection with his own bid for his seat on the city council. According to historian Zeddenek Zofka, Carl Mengele's political aspirations were less ideological than grounded in his desire to influence the local business climate.
