liberty is clearly under threat in all kinds of ways, exactly as you've described. The founding fathers were very conscious of this, because they were creating a republic, not a democracy. For a constitutional republic to work along democratic principles, there has to be the consent of the minority. And and in god we trust. People want what they want so much that they just think that it's actually the niceties of democracy and of the rule of law, which are now gone.
