The Dangers of Speech Codes

I grew up in revolutionary Iran after the Islamic Revolution and the morality police. My childhood was a childhood where we really did not have freedom of speech. We are in a culture right now where people are expanding the definition of harm that comes from speech. As Martin Luther King said, you don't drive out hate with hate. And we love can do that. In our country, I think we need to all ratchet down an temperature where all humans were all Americans.
