In chapter four of the book you talk about money markets as this infrastructure that central banks are using primarily for interest rate targeting. Can you describe how this works and how central banks work with money markets? Yeah I can. So the way this works is that central banks if you look at the broader financial system and the overall credit economy as a whole, usually the interventions of central banks are just the tiny fraction. This raises the question how can this tiny fraction of interventions change credit conditions and financial conditions in the whole economy to make sure that actually the central bank realizes what it aims to do with its monetary policy.
