Why Did Chi-en Come to Canada to Study?
Chi-en was one of 50,000 Chinese students in Canada for university at the time. She applied to several Canadian universities and was thrilled to be accepted into York University's English programme. Her parents would miss her but more than that, they worried about how she'd cope with a different culture and language. Chi-en arrived in Toronto in September 2010 and soon threw herself into her studies. Back in Beijing, her family were relieved and happy to see her doing so well - looking forward to returning home after exams.
