The Meta Question of How We Reason About Consciousness

I always find it interesting the ways in which we actually reason about consciousness and make inferences there. My intuitions about this kind of come from the metaphysics side. For example, when I think about reasoning about my own consciousness, I do feel that there is a role for intuition in there. That's I'm going to take a very, very skeptical viewpoint on all kinds of knowledge. But I tend to start from the viewpoint that consciousness is a primary datum that we know through introspection and go on from there.
