The Dutch Embassy and the Anglo-Dutch War

In 1665, the restored King Charles II tried to get his son Prince William III of Orange installed as ruler of the Dutch Republic. This led to the second Anglo-Dutch War, which went on until Charles gave up and sued for peace in 1667. The Dutch were defeated by Napoleon and then fought against Great Britain in a whole bunch of wars over the first half of the 19th century. In total, there were at least six peace treaties struck, including Great Britain and the Netherlands during the supposed 335 years war. But none of them specifically addressed the 1651 declaration against Silly.
