The Importance of Spinoffs in the Stock Market
Buffett bought Moody's on the spinoff. He also references a Penn State study that showed that they outperform by like 10% per year or something like that. But I don't know that I've seen any academic studies of any metrics that outperform by 10% a year, right? Even when we talk about things like some of the things that perform best are like, right, small like microcap value or something,. Well, that doesn't outperform the market by 10%.
