The Eocene and the Ice Age
56 million years ago, paleoscene turns to the eocene, the big global warming spurt. The horses and cattle and primates spread around the northern continents as did other groups like bats and whales. And then a few million years ago,. the world got really cold, and that's when the ice ages began. Along the way, flowering plants proliferated, and a new type of flowering plant that we call grasses.
