Urban Congestion, and the State Provision of Public Goods
Urban congestion seems to be a big theme in these kinds of riots, because it pleases people in a very tight spot. And triggers can cause things to go out of control much more frequently and much more easily than you would expect somewhere else. So so i think we really do need a lot more research on some of these intractions, the causes, underlying causes of riots,. how it interacts with perhaps local state capacity or police presence.
