Journaling in Film

I've journalled as emily for since i was a kid. And so i thought, hey, why not do that for the characters i play? Surely it would work in the same way that i get a deeper understanding of their brains,. It was especially useful on this job, though, because it was such a long shoot over such a long period of time and we had such a long rehearsal period even before that. I'd open my journal and id, beel lik hay, this is first hand exactly how i was feeling at that moment as my character. And i'd sort of recite it like a monologue, and it would get me exactly in the right head space.
