There's still this way in which the religious is mingled. It's not like it's fully supplanted. We still hear thi question of prayer in schools, evolution taught in schools. Evolution isn't some disinterested, neutral theory. It's precisely because it threatens a certain type of reading,. of a fundamentalist type of reading of the bible and christian ideology.
