The way cities are zoned, that is, the city by laws, really shape what kind of things can go. Alan migeles definitely not the average person on urban policy. He actually alines with that thinking. Most canadian cities built after 19 50 wound up segregating black folk, jewish folks and low income and immigrant folks in terms of functionality and space. So what we could be inadvertently doing is entrenching a race and class divides that exist in the landscape. And of people don't necessarily see it. It's invisible because it is perpetuated by the force of policy.
