The Characteristics of Biblical Hebrew Poetry?

The most distinguishing mark of a biblical poetry is that it's written in verse. And so there are regular pauses that coincide more often than not in Hebrew poetry with the ends of clauses or the ends of thoughts. But those pauses come at a fairly regular intervals unlike prose where you pause when you get to the end of the thought. There's repetition, but there's also difference, sometimes very subtle.
