There's some confusion about whether A1C actually represents fructose glycation. I was able to pretty easily find a clear study in mice. The chemistry, the organic chemistry of glycation involving fructose and the hemoglobin molecule is pretty similar in a mouse as it is a human. We have this thing that human brains do to save electricity: Instead of thinking through things, we'll do cognitive shortcuts.
