The Value Premium

Value stocks tend to generate higher returns than gross stocks, and returns that cannot be plained by their exposure to market risk. There's a large debate about where the value premium comes from. Some studies argue it could be the result of behavioral biases. Another set of theories ore more risk based, arguing that the value premium could be compensation for risk. And so because they're risk here, the value stocks are cheaper. They deliver higher returns in compensation for investors to bear the risk.
