How to Use Google Maps to Improve Your App's Accuracy
Like AndroidX it's pretty much available on all sorts of old platforms like we roll out these APIs all the way back to KitKat. Less than 1% of phones or something like that don't get Google Play Services updates so they'll continue to make improvements your app will just continue to get better accuracy. It doesn't bloat your app at all because it's running in a system module and you can go ahead and use all of this stuff. All of the APK size is paid for by kind of the system updated module of google play services.
