The Importance of Romance in Chinese Games

The games are popular in Asian countries like China and presumably it would be able easier to recruit subjects. How close is this concept to where you see romance options show up in more Western games? You know, I'm thinking about, or even like some Japanese more mainstream games like the persona series which involves a lot of relationships and romance options. And then you have like the bio where games where you always have the option to sleep with every member of your crew.
