The Tocqueville Lecture Series

Eleanor Ostrum's last public lecture was the Hayek lecture at the IEA. She said that all of their research and educational efforts are for naught if we don't focus on creating citizenry capable of self-governance. And she says if our work doesn't aid in that, then you know our work is meaningless. That's pretty amazing for someone to have that kind of conviction in their ideas. The idea of what is the nature of a free society of a self-governing society is what they cared passionately about.
