i've had direct experience s that make the idea of a consciousness beyond ouron not just a theory, a proposition in theology. These kinds of experiences are not going to go away. And for those who've had them, they are extremely meaningful. Theyare more meaningful than reading books on popular science,. or people trying to explain away near death experiences in terms of anoxy in the brain and that kind of thing. i think that these spiritual practices are likely to lead to a resurgence of connection with religious traditions.
