The Importance of Loving the City

According to both the classical and the Christian view, if we're going to contemplate what is in all of the goods that God has established providentially in the world then it's not just all of them together that we need to pursue. Just to understand how it is that all of these goods are related to each other within a hierarchy, higher and lower. To love the city as a reflection, a human created reflection of the cosmos but also as that in which individual families flourish. That's how all of these under the careful watch and guide and providence of God have their own meaning and their own value.
