What Good Came Out of the Bubonic Plague?
Jason Fyfer: Did anything good come out of the worst version of this that we can think of? Because if so, then there's hope for whatever's coming next. The medieval economy was a lord and surf system; lords own the land and they also own the surfs. And once something happens like the bubonic plague, the lords say, you know what, it's time to get back to work. But here's the thing. What has changed is that there are no longer enough surfs for all the lords because they all died.
