In the first corinthians 11, Paul says that a man shouldn't have his head covering because he's the image and glory of god, but the woman is man's glory. So paul seems to be saying that any glory she has comes through the man,. And if you make those relationships simple, you run into the idea that just as apparently paul thinks that woman is under the headship of her husband, so christ is under the Headship of God.
