The Death of a Two Year Old Boy in Florida

An Amber alert was issued last week for a missing two year old boy in Florida. The boy was found dead inside the body of an alligator and his father has been charged with murder. Here's what I don't get: How did they arrest the dad? Sounds to me like the kid got eaten by an alligator. Isn't that like who's, who's the perpetrator?
