The Importance of Footnotes in Political Ads

The key to getting people to understand just how extreme some of these folks are and to make it believable is to let them speak for themselves or at least at a minimum show that you are footnoting and heavily sourcing your charges. I have seen in a focus group where we we quickly made an ad for a focus group and we didn't put footnotes at the bottom of the page and it was amazing one of the people in the focus group said well I don't know if I can believe this ad there's no footnotes there. The voters had got to the point where they expected to see sources and citations for what you were claiming because it at least removed a little bit of skepticism that
