F1 Engineers Using the Commander Effect
F1 engineers brilliantly utilized this to even know the FAA had stipulated that the exhaust have to be facing upward at an angle and nowhere near the diffuser. McLaren was using more of a downwash and a ramp down the side pod to get the air to go between the rear wheel and the diffusers. Red Bull actually established this crossover tunnel that they they spent about half the season developing to get to work right. And I think Salberg tried to copy it and just gave up. It was too much money for them to make happen.
