The Life and Times of Noel Mar

In August 1991 Noel attended the debut gig of his younger brother Liam's band Oasis. He duly came aboard on the condition he'd become the group's soul songwriter and essentially its leader although Liam remained a lead singer. The former used the band as an outlet for the songs he'd been writing in the store room of the British gas building where he worked at the time. Johnny Mar was a mentor for the band early on as well wasn't he? Yeah I think Noel managed to get a demo tape to Johnny's brother andJohnny liked what he heard and took Noel under his wing and actually helped the band find management.
