How Do You Write a Novel?
As an only child, you get to be very inventive and imaginative. I think that habit or way of being became sort of the way I looked at everything as a writer. Everything kind of goes into my pot or cauldron. And then when I come to begin writing, it always starts around a single image or a single concept. That's probably the closest description to how I come up with this style of writing.
