Are We Just at the Point of No Return?

There needs to be more ethical oversight of how these systems are developed. There's a law coming from the European Union called the AI Act, and it actually bans all forms of facial recognition for surveillance by police unless it's for trying to combat terrorism. The issue with it is that it is so broad. It's not just about facial recognition. It's about all forms of AI. So whether that's recommendation systems on social media or facial recognition, you know, it covers a lot.
