The Book of Deuteronomy
Deuteronomistic school of writers for most of the twentieth century. Willhausen's ideas formed basic framework of biblical scholarship. Four schools or sources contributed to all these books, j e, p and d. The esauce developed in israel and was brought to the southern kingdom of judah after the fall of the kingdom. There it was combined with a native jay sauce by an unknown editor. Some scholars thought that the p school worked in the exilic period, around five 50 b c. Others thought it originated a hundred and 70 years earlier during the reign of king hezekiah.
