In order to build a relationship with someone, it involves risk. Anyone who is emotionally unavailable will be unresponsive or maybe even repelled by your vulnerability. Vulnerability is at the root of emotional availability and vulnerability is like a magnet to emotionally available people. Those who are closed off tend to be attracted to and tend to magnetize those who are unavailable.
