What's the Point of Studying History?

Our level of understanding about history really comes down to at most 19, 20, 30 hours of western civilization knowledge. I would propose that the so called t shaped expert is the right way to do it. So you have a very shallow knowledge of many, many areas, and a deep specialization in one or two of them. And there's almost an infinity of material that you can mine from the hundred years war. The deep study will inform s, you know, the mechanics of human nature, of like power of economic development.
