I would really encourage you to think through, why do I want to do this? What is the benefit that I might receive? And there's this idea, and I don't know where it comes from, but someone was telling me about it the other day. But if you're very nervous, if logically it doesn't make sense for you to do this, maybe think about it a little bit more. The people who experienced the most regret are not those who made the decision, they're those who didn't. So many of the ideas in psychology explain why it's important that we make these decisions when we're young at this age. Thank you for coming along this ride with me.
This week we discuss the psychology behind why we all should be prepared to talk risks and push beyond our comfort zone in our 20’s. This topic has a lot of personal relevance for me right now, which I share in this episode, but there is also a lot of science and psychology that is incredibly compelling and persuasive as to why taking a risk is a good thing! From studies on the impact of regret and inaction, to existential dread and the difference between bounded and unbounded risk, we are going to break down all of the explanations behind taking that leap of faith in our 20’s.
