Blockstream and lightning in general is to reduce the reliance on trust by using the lightning network. The more intermediaries we have in between the more possibilities for failures, we have more possibilities for trust being abused. We all are paying credit card fees for it to work as smooth as it appears from the outside. So if we can eliminate them, we can reduce the insurances that we that we have to pay in order to smooth over these these issues. And the more efficient we can, we can make the financial system.
