I remember watching an Italian film called Qua Long Quamenda and it's a satire. The whole idea of having to pay tax is completely terrifying for most Italians. I didn't really have problems paying taxes until I realized that as soon as the tax authorities know who you are you can never escape. Knowing that avoiding tax is a thing that people do in Italy much more I would say than in the UK That is an important part of your experience isn't it?
