Géal Beaure Gay and Marguerite Peter

Marguerite Peter met Géal Beaure Gay while working at the Arsenal factory. She was in her mid-30s, nine years his senior and impressed by his flashy personality. They soon established a quid pro quo type business relationship with him lending her money from time to time when she needed it. In exchange, she was available to help him out when he needed it. Her own husband wasn't so convinced and accused her of having an affair with the younger man. There doesn't appear to be any evidence that this was the case, and both parties denied it.
