The Importance of Putting the Kids First

I just had a really funny moment in the last episode I released where, you know, we talked about how being a band director is so many other things than making music. You'd better love music because you don't get to do a whole lot of it at the end of the day. It's sort of reinforcing those reasons why I wanted to be a band teacher and teach kids. The idea of putting the kids first and using music as a vehicle to teach kids as opposed to teaching music to kids are big part of what I've learned.
