The Power of Self-Interest
In 1970 in West Germany 85% administered all shocks. In 2017 in Poland 90% of participants also administered all the shocks. The data shows it is not hard for the average person to do horrible things. When people do decide to go ahead with these terrible acts it is because they think they have clever ways out of them or think the act will benefit them more than what they could lose. There are many that wish to whitewash Jesus and just reduce him to a good moral teacher that offered some good advice and lessons. But Jesus never paints humanity as something inherently good that just needs a little guidance but instead is sinners that desperately need to repent lest we perish.
