The History of the Mercury Project
Seven men were selected from a pool of over 500 to be the first nasa mercury astronauts. The group included john glenn, who said he was willing to risk so much for his country. Later that spring the seven would go to cape canalvall and observe the launch of the first atlas rocket. But then it took a staggered turn and exploded to the horror of everyone watching inside the bunker. After another failed attempt to fire the atlas bonbron would finally get the call he'd been waiting for.
