The Third Form of Political Camping
Historian pheebe young talks to sacha lily about the history of camping in America. She says there is a tradition of political camping that dates back through the depression, an earlier, into the nineteenth century. And then also the situation of people who are without shelter, absolutely right. The debate over what does it mean to have people occupying this space for reasons of necessity has been going on for a long time and continues to day.
