When you're on your left side, the sphincter opens a lot easier. You don't have as much reflux things of that nature. Also for pregnant women, we ask pregnant women to sleep on their left side because it's healthier for the baby. The key factor if you're going to be moving back and forth is you want to bed that doesn't have a lot of movement to it.
