Observing Great Red Spots on Exo Planets
We are trying to understand what the clouds are doing and how they're changing overtime. So we basically point the spitzer space telescope these worlds. We watch them for about a day each, so about 20 hours each. If these objects have clouds in their atmospheres, we can actually detect that by how bright the planet is at any period of time.
