I think there are several factors here. I was quite lucky with having a good psychologist and having access to treatment because that's another thing with eating disorder treatments that are often quite inaccessible. There is a lot of, yeah, there are a lot of misconceptions about eating disorders even within the treatment system that also make it more difficult. But then of course we know is that the rates of full recovery unfortunately aren't always so high. We know that relapse rate is very, very high and that is very unfortunate. It comes boils down to lack of fact, the treatment, the nature of an eating disorder and just also sometimes the treatment system isn't always so great.
In this episode we break down the psychology behind eating disorders - from anorexia to bulimia and binge eating disorder. Amalie Lee, the Host of the Recovery Talk podcast joins us to discuss her own experience with anorexia and as an eating disorder recovery coach as we break down the triggers and origins of eating disorders, the misconceptions, how they impact our psychological and emotional well-being and the journey to healing and recovery.
