I'm clear not an insider in that sense. And I don't aspire to it. It's never been a desire or a strategy. But if Summers is actually genuinely persuaded by that, it's tragic. He was complicit in the process of whittling down Obama's options so that he ended up with less. If you teach at Cambridge, Yale and Columbia, you're not on the outside of anything. You're absolutely in the pocket of the super-rich.
