Bob Greene: It was a practice to throw bronze statues into the water as an offering so that you would get them. They also found 5,000 coins, gold, silver and bronze coins in there. The bronze statues were either one meter tall presentations of one of the gods or they were just body parts which represented whatever ailment you were having.
