Is Therapy Helpful?

I think therapy is useful if it's helpful, right? Like other like, I sound like a bit of an asshole. So I spoke to someone when I gave up alcohol for the first time, it was very help. He basically just shamed me and it like had this mad effect on me which I really wasn't expecting it to. And with therapy, I've had some therapy, but not, you know, I don't value it as something that I do regularly. If it's helping, if it feels like a chat, what's the point?
