The Russian Defense Intelligence Update on the Wagner Crisis
The loyalty of Russia's security forces and especially the Russian national guard will be key to how the crisis plays out. Images on social media from credible sources show an MI8 or possibly an MI35 aircraft reportedly shot down by Wagner as it attacked or having attacked members of the group. There are also images of a Wagner convoy moving north towards Moscow on the M4 in Lipetsk oblast. The governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golibeth, he has told people to stay at home and said law enforcement agencies are doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of residents of the area.
