The History of the Balkan War

Balkan War II starts more or less exactly at the same time. The largest, richest and most populous of the new nations in Southeastern Europe stayed out of the war mostly because they had no common frontier with the Ottoman Empire. But now they feel threatened by the expansion of their neighbor, Bulgaria. When did Romania become sovereign state? Same time as Serbia, I think, 1878.
