The Role of Guideline Directed Medical Therapy in Heart Failure With Improved Ejection Fraction
In patients with heart failure with improved ejection fraction after treatment, guideline directed medical therapy should be continued to prevent relapse of heart failure and LV dysfunction even in patients who may become asymptomatic. This is a class 1 level of evidence B recommendation. Dr. Switzer: There are nuances in art to this in clinical practice. Some patients understand that they're taking a risk that their heart may worsen, but want to peel off some of their therapies. But the reality is that there are patients who are quite persistent and really want to try and peel off therapy.
